A hand-finished, wrought iron letter tidy from Kirkpatrick, manufactured in a traditional English ironfoundry.

These wrought iron letter flaps are traditionally made here in the UK and finished by hand, with a two coat, protective finish.

Kirkpatrick’s long tradition of manufacturing means that they have a style and authenticity which is lacking in the cheap imitations which are available. Their workforce is skilled in the traditional methods of production, which have not changed in essence over the last 156 years. Although it is possible to find many similar products available both in the UK and worldwide, the essential difference is that their cast products are whiteheart malleable iron, which is particularly durable and well suited to the manufacture of architectural ironmongery.

When ordering, please check that you choose a size of letter flap which covers the retaining bolts of your letterplate. If buying a new letterplate, check the “Bolt Centre” measurements; your letter flap should be longer than this distance.
