Although not British-made, this is a very nice quality period escutcheon, manufactured in Europe.

An escutcheon is used as a keyhole cover; it is the plate fitted to cover the keyhole, to give a decorative finish.

This period escutcheon is machine forged in solid brass for a superior finish. It is available in either aged brass or polished nickel.
